My Migraine Journey Go-Bag Checklist

Migraines, chronic migraines, balanced life, chronic illness

Migraine Go Bag Checklist gives a list of things that I always have on hand when traveling or at work. Having access to the necessities when in the middle of a migraine attack can help maintain a little comfort during the prodrome and ictal phase of your migraine attack.

This simple, but effective, way to always be prepared for a migraine, will provide you with the security that you will always have on hand the necessities in case of a migraine attack. When dealing with migraines, there are a few things I feel are required to always have on hand. Make sure you are taking your medication as prescribed and DO NOT take them earlier than your doctor advises, this can lead to having a Medication Overuse Headache (MOH). Have OTC medication that you take during a migraine attack. Also, ensure that you have the alternative treatments that work for you in the go-bag.

Some medications that you should include in your Migraine Go-Bag include your abortive prescription medication, over-the-counter medication, nausea medication, sinus medication, Benedryl or meclizine, and caffeine pills. These will be based on your plan of treatment, so not all will be necessary if they do not help you during an attack. You may also have to add medications that your doctor has told you to take for your migraines.

Basic nutritional supplies that you should have are water, snacks, and caffeinated beverage if it helps your migraines. Should your migraine last into your normal eating schedule, you will need a snack to decrease the risk of increased pain during your migraine. Water is required to keep you hydrated. Hydration and eating off schedule are two of the main triggers that people with migraines have, and during attacks, we seldom follow our hydration and eating schedules because of nausea. This causes our migraine to last longer.

Alternative treatments for migraine care can vary based on your triggers and symptoms. There are over 130 treatments you can use for migraines, so trial and error can take some time to figure out what works and doesn’t work for you. I can help you in finding the right alternative treatments for your migraines in my Master Your Migraine Program. Alternative treatments to keep in your Migraine Go-Bag can include the following:

It is always a good idea to be prepared for any eventuality when suffering from chronic migraines. Building foundations is one of the ultimate preparations you should focus on in order to gain clarity in your life. The Balanced Life Blueprint provides you with the framework to transform your life. Whether you suffer from migraines or not, this blueprint can help transform your life.

My Master Your Migraine Program provides the guidance you need to decrease the frequency, duration, and intensity of your migraines. I have managed to decrease my active attack days from 24 + days a month to about 6 days following my Master Your Migraine Program. This number varies month to month since my migraines are generally weather related, but following the protocol that I established, the decreased frequency, duration, and intensity of my migraines has made living with migraines slightly less debilitating.
